What we do at Tina Cowley Parow Reading Centre
We equip students with a much better reading ability. Students attend a session once a week for between 45 minutes and 90 minutes depending on the specific needs.

2.4 Million scholars have reading problems and the average first year student at a tertiary institute has the reading ability of a grade 6 scholar, according to Professor Deon Visser, of the University of the Freestate. About one in five people struggle to acquire the reading skills most of us take for granted.
At the Parow Reading Centre children and adults from all backgrounds, with and without learning disabilities, are assisted to improve their reading, comprehension, reading speed and so much more.

We have identified a common attribute many expert assign to students who achieve below average results when compared with classmates as a physiological condition which if addressed correctly, can be overcome.
The research has proven that this physiological condition is not an acute learning disability but a reading disability that results in students being stigmatised as “backward”.
At our Reading Centre, through Scientific Reading Evaluations, we assess the various components brought into play when exercising this all important learning aspect and create a reading therapy program suited for each learner. Statistically we can boast of learners that have achieved an average percentage increases that range from 8% to as high as 40% after completing the reading therapy program. Reading Assessments are available at the Parow Reading Centre.
